Anyone interested in meeting in Austin, Texas?

Post by deathdealingjawa »

Since getting a game together may take a while, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in meeting up while we wait for Toz to get back?

I might be in town next September. This year my boss had a heart attack, so... No trips.

On that point, he hasn't called me this month. Hmm.

I'm in town from Dec5 to December 7-8 and then I'm off to Dallas for a couple of days.

Cynic, I go to school at UT Arlington and live just twenty minutes north of Dallas when school lets out. If there are enough people, a DFW group could get together for a one shot.

I'll be in Denton for part of the trip with Virgileso and our old group.

Virgil promised me a one-shot and if he's cool with it, you can jump in.

Meeting another Den member is cool by me. As an aside, having family expect you to run a game is nifty-keen.

I'm going to be in Austin in a few weeks, but I'll be damned if I meet up with anyone I meet over the Internet in real life.

Sorry, but I need to maintain my mysterious cool. :badass:

Your freedom to add and change rules in the middle of the game is in direct conflict with my ability to understand that rules system before I decided whether or not to join your game.

In short, your entire post is dismissive of not merely my intelligence, but my agency. And I don't mean agency as a player within one of your games, I mean my agency as a person. You do not want me to be informed when I make the fundamental decisions of deciding whether to join your game or buying your rules system.

Dude. You're posting on a tabletop gaming forum. Your cool was lost on September 24th 2007. :P

A check of records reveals that Lago joined the original TGDMB at 3:27:41pm on 1/18/04. Not that this will persuade him to come out and meet the regulars.

I'm not necessarily up for gaming, but I'll do dinner/hang out if anybody is interested.

That reminds me, fbmf, when were you thinking of coming out to NC?

Probably when he wants to catch retardation. Because that is all that hillbilly state is good for.

We are also going to get rid of our industry and have new industry come in to take over, and take our only remaining cash crop and tax it so much that people don't want to grow it anymore so that we have nothing left int he state for people to do, so they will move away to where there are jobs to be had, maybe to Mexico where we are sending all our industries to.

Might be an idea to try out while Cynic is in town in December.

Gah, you're right. I forgot he's had a couple different names when I was making the joke. Teach me to try and be funny.

And to update things, I'll be heading back stateside either the 23rd or the 30th, depending on how the handoff goes here. I'll be totally up for a lunch meetup or something around mid-December.

So would the 11th or the 18th of December work for people to meet in the Dallas/Fort Worth area? For those in near Austin, I would be up for meeting when ever.

I should be home sometime this week. I'm currently looking at doing a get together on the 12th or the 19th in Austin, whichever is best for everyone.

I plan on being at Dragon's Lair on Saturday for the Webcomics Rampage. Anyone that wants to get together for lunch can meet me there and we can figure out where to eat then.
